Ice avalanches |
|
|
Description |
a little serac fall has started at 3.000 m, and has stopped at 1.100 m. A cone of 120 m length, 70 m de high and about 11 m thick has been made : it represents a volume of about 92.000 m3 |
Effects: |
only a few steres of wood have been destroyed |

Ice avalanches |
|
|
Description |
an enormous ice fall has started at 3.200 m of altitude. Ice and snow residues of materials covered about 6 ha of surface, with an average thick of 38 m. The total volume of materials has been estimated at about 2,2 millions m3! (this is a quite big quantity of materials, so we can think that the dimensions of the cone are not very reliable) |
Effects: |
Several hundreds steres of resinous have been destroyed during the event, and the shooting range of the Houches has been destructed |

Ice avalanches |
|
|
Description |
the ice fall started at 3.200 m . It has formed a cone at the bottom of the steep slope : 280 m length, 150 m high et 6 m thick, that means a volume of about 250.000 m3 of ice |
Effects: |
apparently, no damages |
