Type: |
Ice avalanches |
|
|
Description |
an avalanche already happened on several occasion in the “Ruisseau des Nants” corridor. It starts at 2500m of altitude, on a little plateau of the right bank of the South glacier of the Gurraz.
A huge wind had blown during the last snowfalls , and it has certainly made some plaques à vent. We can guess that ice falls from the South glacier of the Gurraz could have destabilized these plaques à vent.
Seracs could have been the avalanche detonator |
Effects: |
no big damages. In 1984, the avalanche had recovered the road D 902 with one meter of snow, and had moved a pile of the bridge of the access road to the Gurraz of one meter. The church tower of this village had already been broken on several occasions because of the breath of the aerosol (RTM Chambéry). |

Type: |
Ice avalanches |
|
|
Description |
on several occasion : serac falls, with small volumes |
Effects: |
no damages, because these seracs have always stopped at one plateau level situated at 2300m of altitude. Nevertheless, we can be afraid that a bigger ice fall would happened and that its breath reaches the hamlets of the Gurraz and Savinaz |
