Description  a sudden flood of the Arveyron; a break of a little dam caused by a collapsing on the left bank, the cause is an under glacial water pocket outburst , localised at the confluence of "Mer de Glace" with "Nant Blanc"
Effects:  the flood was avoided thanks to the Arveyrons dyke

Type:  Glacier flood (contain both lakes and water pocket)
Description  after violent precipitations (56 mm since the 17th September), a water pocket outburst occured, with thrusting of ice
Effects:  a violent flood of Arveyron, also a flood of many cellars and ground-levels in Chamonix (1,5 m of water on 4 ha at the "Bois du Bouchet" ). Some ice blocs of 1m3 were fond as far as Annemasse, 70 km on downstream
