however, the two last events are recent, well-detailed and very rich in information. Many persons have been interested by this recurrent phenomenon. Moreover, glaciers of the massif of Chambeyron have been the subject of a thesis, and several inhabitants of the valley of the Ubaye are very attentive at the evolution of the glacier of Chauvet. So, many pictures have been taken, and the last emptying has still been filmed by mountaineers, which give us good information |

| Description |
a glacial lake has emptied by a channel which has been opened in the ice (diameter 4m, length 20m). The phenomenon has happened for 2 hours. It has caused a mud-flow with ice blocks in the gully of Chauvet. The volume of the lake has been estimated at about 50.000 m3 |

trees have been barked and recovered by silts until 5 m high, and an important cone of dejecta has been made at Ubaye level, which water level has increased of 60 cm during the event |
